Distance nursing education programs could make contribution to the shortage of nurses in the United States. We are currently experiencing a severe shortage of personnel, health care, that its limits will be extended. One might think that we might the lack of nurses by training address, but therein lies the problem. There are many qualified applicants for the places available in nursing schools. We have simply not enough nursing educators to teach.
Nursing is a rigorous scientific discipline to the additional requirement of the practical technical skills. Nursing Education has a classroom and a clinical component. Nursing programs, has the distance learning available for years, but the usefulness of the clinical part of the curriculum remains a concern.
The minimum of a nursing educator a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Distance learning programs, nurse educators prepare existing nursing home that the solution to the shortage of nurses could be.
Currently, there are few incentives available, BSN nurse to continue her studies. Higher education in nursing is costly and stringent. It is very difficult for a nurse who find the time, energy and resources for the school works. RN, MSN Programs
BSN RN’s who do not have limited career opportunities. It is difficult for them to advance in the management and areas of specialty chemicals, and there is an incentive for them back to school and get a degree. RN BSN programs make it relatively easy for working nurses to earn a degree. There are many distance learning, and they are set up for working people.
RN to apply, such programs could be encouraged to enter the RN program, instead of MSN are. RN, MSN programs already exist. We were able to use these programs to more nursing educators, as they prepare to fill and easier to recruit more nurses in them. If an RN is fit an RN to BSN program, perhaps it could be proposed for entry in RN program instead of MSN.
BSN, PhD programs
There is not much incentive for MSN prepared nurses to teach. Maybe this means we should recruit more nurses in doctoral programs. PhD prepared nursing educators have more opportunities and more money for MSN prepared educators. Maybe we should recruit BSN prepared nurses in doctoral programs instead of trying to convince her to pursue a master’s degree.
Preparing educators for nursing is the only answer to the shortage of nurses, nursing and distance education for graduate study are a viable way to do this.
